Happy First Birthday to a very special little lady.
She has changed our lives, softened our hearts, and caused deeper smile lines.
Little Miss Parker Lane Jenkins was born on this day.
Let me tell you a little bit about LittleMissP.
She is feisty, boy is she feisty… I guess I can say she is like me.
We call her Parx, Parxy, Sugar, Booboo, Sweet P, Sugar Pie.
We made up a song just for her.
Still so much like a baby she is petite, delicate, and dainty.
Pete and Pierson make her squeal.
Quite the Mama’s girl, but slowly adoring Daddy day by day.
When she eats she moans and spits out happy coos, through the entire meal.
She loves to thump her toes on her high chair tray.
‘Classical Baby’ is her favorite show and the moment she hears the HBO sound she claps.
Her first four teeth have entered within the past two weeks.
She still crawls and has no desire to walk.
Some of her words: uh oh, book, ball, bird, more, hi
Trucks are her latest love, big tow trucks and fire engines.
She cries; a lot.
Avocados could be her favorite food.
We are best buddies – she loves loves to be next to me most of the day.
She waves HI to everyone; even to a fly that lands on her tray.
Her tongue is sticking out often, and has for months now.
When we walk into a room she says ‘HI’ while she waves; as if everyone had been waiting on her arrival.
She is 18lbs. Which is TINY! Like 5th percentile tiny, if my scale is accurate.

This morning I took her on a sunrise birthday session.
The field was dewy, glowing, and golden.
She has many different faces, I do too.
When she is scared, excited, angry, she clasps her hands together.
There’s that tongue!
She loves to look for birdies.
Scowling occurs most of the day.
She has always had the most beautiful hands.
Sometimes her jaw looks flat and squared.
She has beautiful eyelashes.
Her baby blues are ridiculous.

Oh my gosh, she is adorable! And looks so much like you!!
I had to laugh at some of the qualities our daughters share: the lots of crying, moaning through meal times and the fact that they’re both very petite (mine is 17 pounds at 10 months). Yikes, I am in EVERY single photo in this post.
Okay, time to chime in Miss Carly Simon… I bet you think this post is about you, don’t you?
Now really, there is a point. When we go on vacations it is super easy to get lost in capturing the world going on around you.
Your mate, your kids, strangers, architecture, friends, food, some of you, or perhaps smoke billowing out of bright orange tubes.
HOWEVER, I think it’s quite important to be in the photo… together.
Self timer has become quite the friend – while traveling.
It may seem silly, but we have some sweet photos… I set up Paul, get the settings straight, hit the button and run into place.
BOOM a lovely photo of My P and Me.
Utilize Strangers. Find Reflections. Outstretch those arms baby and get one of those high school shots!
Just make sure you have some photos of Y’ALL… together!
