Arden Prucha Photography bio picture
  • HI! I am Arden Prucha Jenkins - a photographer located in Fort Worth, Texas! I specialize in portraiture and more recently weddings! Please take a look around and get to know my work, my style, my life, and me.

How did I get into photography? Well, everyone has their story right? Looking back I realize that the little photog was in me all along, without even knowing it! I picked up a camera when I was around 8 and started snapping photos - I even posed my neighbors, animals, and Barbies for photos (seriously I made a Barbie wedding and photographed the entire thing).

Who am I? Well, I was a teacher for three years, but was able to leave that job to focus on photography and my two beautiful children!  I married a man who I am totally smitten over and he is crazy supportive of me.  I am a bargain shopper with expensive taste.  God allows me to trust this world with less fear and more hope and trust.  Music makes my heart flutter - so thankfully I married a very talented musician. I wish I could carry a tune, but unfortunately I cannot. My favorite month is October (dreamy light) and I miss my convertible - oh the beautiful wind .  When I was little I was amazingly or perhaps annoyingly hyper - and ate more food than all of the boys and was faster than most of them too.  I was a dancer and I love to write and converse.  When I am around people I get more energy and become alive. The differences between women and men intrigue me and kiddos make my heart melt. Photos... well, they fill my heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy what you see.

We’re BACK!

Back home after a brief and lovely time in Philly.  I have a ton of images to share, but have a lot to work on before that.  I hope you all had a wonderful and long weekend.  It was our best Fourth to date!

These are indeed the museum with the ‘Rocky’s Stairs.’

I bid you adieu…

Paul and I are flying to Philadelphia this evening, so I will be away from my ‘office’ once again.  Paul has been asked to fill in bass for Green River Ordinance, a once local band who is now touring throughout the U.S.  These guys are great, kind, talented, and fun – we are so blessed to be able to join them on this amazing venture.  They will be opening for the Goo Goo Dolls at this HUGE festival in Philadelphia; complete with an awesome fireworks show!  What a fantastic opportunity for Paul – I am thrilled to be able to be a part of it and am happy to ride his coat tails (with love and admiration)!  I can’t wait to share images of this historic city – neither one of us have been to Philadelphia, so it will be extra fun!

Happy July 4th – What a blessing it is to be an American with FREEDOM, choice, voices that matter, and the ability to pursue your dreams.

I wish safety and fun upon my wonderful friends.  Thanks for always being supportive, gracious, and generous.

Here are some old images of my guy slappin’da’bass.

(I totally overuse that line, but Paul Rudd made it so darn cute.)

These babies, we will surely miss!

NYC ch.2

I love these images and have so many – which means more personal posts to come.  This post includes our trip to the MOMA – where we saw an incredible exhibit from Marina Abramovic where she is “Present.”  The Museum of Modern Art made for extra unique and fun images.  Also below are images from St. Batholomew’s – a beautiful and old church, the street fair, random pretty things and the Letterman studio.

Look closely at this first image – you can see the subway’s lights.

Yvonne Sperrin I LOVE this!! Amazing pictures – really well captured Arden 🙂January 28, 2012 – 6:27 am

Blair Van Bussel Your trip looks like it was amazing! And all of the pictures are just stunning! My hubby and I have a couple little weekend trips planned this summer – just the two if us! It will be the first time we leave our little guy alone with friends and family, can not wait! 🙂January 27, 2012 – 10:18 pm

NYC-Ch.1

Every time I say New York I begin to sing (in my head) Alicia Keys’ chorus.  Man, where do I begin?  You will surely remember this post when I surprised Paul with a trip to ‘surprise destination.’  Paul didn’t want to know where we were headed until we stepped up to the gate.  Kudos to the baggage handlers and i.d. checkers for playing along with us and pushing Paul back so he wouldn’t see or here the surprise city.  We stepped up to the gate and he was surprised and a little nervous – BIG CITY nerves, but what he didn’t realize is that when I step foot in NYC I feel totally confident and somewhat at home; I have been there 6-7 times by now.  This was our chance to relax, enjoy one another, and do WHATEVER we wanted.  I didn’t plan anything – because I didn’t want us to be committed to a certain schedule.  So, what did we do?  We WALKED! and walked and walked – every day.  It was great.  We ate, we drank, we window shopped, we took the subways 99% of the time we traveled far.  Two of my closet girlfriends live there too.  Hilaree works at Rouge Tomate and Amber at Del Friscos. We dined at RT – which is a very fresh, organic, and healthy restaurant – did I mention COOL and TRENDY and DELICIOUS?  There was a local street fair with killer food, shopping, and people watching.  Went to cool pubs, quaint bars, and adorable restaurants!  I bought a 100% paper Fedora for $8 on Canal – and you will see me wearing it in most of the photos; what can I say I love it and really tried to play the ‘cool’ part! 🙂

I can’t believe I haven’t even mentioned our hotel yet!  I started researching hotels early on, because the earlier the better deal, etc.  I found Morgans Hotel and fell in DESIGN LOVE – I mean it’s modern, linear, simplistic which is so Paul and myself.  I wanted this hotel and believe it or not if I booked 60 days in advance I would receive 20% off a night – WHAT?!  So booked, I did.  I called them a few days prior to the trip to confirm my reso and asked them for a corner or high room – for it was our FIRST ANNIVERSARY and P’s 34th.  When we arrived the lovely staff informed us that we had been upgraded to a suite!  If you have ever stayed in NYC, especially at a boutique hotel, you know the rooms are tiny – well, our room was far from tiny!  We were enjoying the room when knock, knock, knock – a lovely coconut cake with ‘Happy Anniversary’ written in chocolate.  This hotel really made our trip spectacular and we felt right at home (modern, contemporary, cool)!  We did eat at their restaurant Asia de Cuba (um, hello Paul is half Cuban… perfect!) and it was DELICIOUS and EXPENSIVE!  I am not sure if I have ever seen so many items over $65 on a menu… I mean a $75 fillet really?

Our hotel… our lovely hotel!

Lucky for us there was a small liquor store across the street, which meant $11 for a bottle of wine rather than $35 from the mini fridge.  The AC was our wine cooler 🙂

View from one of our EIGHT windows 🙂

Interesting perspective of a tissue box holder:

A delicious little Italian Cafe – Iced Coffees, Chicken Parmigiana, and an Endive Blue Cheese Salad (oh and a handsome date).

Straight out of a movie: an elderly gent feeding the devoted pigeons.

How cool are both of these doors – ooooh and the lights!?

Gorgeous and COLORFUL buildings all within a block or so.

Us 🙂

This amazing park surrounded by high-rise apartments.  Hello city, hello park, hello love!

At the tip of the island – time for a delicious beverage and some down time.

One of my only purchases: a bubble umbrella!

linda jenkins A wonderful composition! Yes,it was a good idea to bring your camera! I am happy you both had such fun. Paul took some beautiful photos of you as well!July 4, 2010 – 10:01 am

Cicada

Left a towel out from slip-n-sliding and this little fella was hanging out the next morning.  I had to snap some images of this creepy, but beautiful creature.
