Arden Prucha Photography bio picture
  • HI! I am Arden Prucha Jenkins - a photographer located in Fort Worth, Texas! I specialize in portraiture and more recently weddings! Please take a look around and get to know my work, my style, my life, and me.

How did I get into photography? Well, everyone has their story right? Looking back I realize that the little photog was in me all along, without even knowing it! I picked up a camera when I was around 8 and started snapping photos - I even posed my neighbors, animals, and Barbies for photos (seriously I made a Barbie wedding and photographed the entire thing).

Who am I? Well, I was a teacher for three years, but was able to leave that job to focus on photography and my two beautiful children!  I married a man who I am totally smitten over and he is crazy supportive of me.  I am a bargain shopper with expensive taste.  God allows me to trust this world with less fear and more hope and trust.  Music makes my heart flutter - so thankfully I married a very talented musician. I wish I could carry a tune, but unfortunately I cannot. My favorite month is October (dreamy light) and I miss my convertible - oh the beautiful wind .  When I was little I was amazingly or perhaps annoyingly hyper - and ate more food than all of the boys and was faster than most of them too.  I was a dancer and I love to write and converse.  When I am around people I get more energy and become alive. The differences between women and men intrigue me and kiddos make my heart melt. Photos... well, they fill my heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy what you see.

Fix It Friday #56

Today I wanted to participate in I♥ Faces Fix It Friday… Where they give you an image and you edit it to your liking.  I am becoming much more simplistic in my editing process.  Which means you really have to know your settings like a champ!  Here is a before:

And after… I adjusted levels and curves, added a soft light neutral layer, selected the dark gray color range (added some saturation and adjusted curves), adjusted the color balances, cloned out baby’s red skin, and then added a nice gaussian blur.  Voila!

Check out the other entries here!

NYC Peek

So a couple of weeks ago I surprised my husband with a trip to the BIG APPLE (posted here).  This was a birthday and FIRST anniversary gift to him.  Here is a peek of us in NYC.

I am super busy this weekend.  Tonight my husband is surprising me with an anniversary gift and I was told to pack a small bag!!!  Tomorrow I am shooting a wedding that is going to be featured in Brides of North Texas magazine!  This is quite exciting because my photos will be displayed for all to see… kind of nerve-racking too.  AHH!  I am also second shooting a wedding through Heather Essian Portrait Arts on Sunday.   Then, will hopefully be relaxing by the pool for Memorial Day… all while editing a ton of sessions and a couple of weddings!  Oh being a photographer is more work than the average person would realize.  It is FUN and I absolutely love it… though it is a difficult task properly balancing shoots, editing, and orders, all while a sweet 7 month old little gal just wants to play 🙂  I get better day by day.

Finley Peek

This gal was absolutely perfect.

I wanted to post a before & after set.  The first one is literally out of the camera, obviously a little dark and you can see her flaky baby skin and baseboards.

I lightened her up, took out the flaws/baseboard via clone stamp, darkened the blanket, added a nice gaussian blur, but took it off of the hat.  I cropped in and altered the levels for extra contrast.

A pretty basic edit, nothing too fancy or altering, but definitely better.  Now, this still takes quite a bit of time…

Editing is the MAJORITY of the work a photographer does – if they are a fine art photographer.

Isn’t it amazing what you can do to make a photo look so much prettier!?  Love this sweet babe.

Amy Henderson LOVE your photos! And that baby is too cute for words!May 28, 2010 – 10:59 pm

Baby J is 1

Meet Baby Jackson, well almost not a baby anymore 🙁  He has just turned one!  This age is so FUN to capture, yet also very challenging.  One year old babes are extremely independent, curious, and full of their own personality.  Jackson was so sweet and wanted nothing to do with me, but wanted everything to do with dirt, wood chips, grass, snacks, bubbles, and all of that BOY stuff.   Enjoy precious Jackson!

Meet J’s Mommy and Daddy.  I went to school with Ashley… what a good lookin’ fam!  You can tell Jackson takes after

I LOVE COLOR!

Up.Up.and.AWAY.

How precious is he?  May be my favorite?

He literally bent over to eat his upside down cupcake… look Mommy no hands!

Samantha Workman Arden, these are so cute! I can’t wait to do Zoey’s pics!!! Ashley’s lil boy is so stinkin’ handsome; I love it. I didn’t know she had a baby. Great job! Tell her I said hello!May 20, 2010 – 3:16 pm

Graduate Julia

Meet Julia… who you may remember from this post and who will be graduating in a couple of weeks!  She is about to become a Red Raider which is where I met her sister ten years ago… GUNS UP!  Julia is absolutely stunning and I posted a lot of sultry serious photos of her because I just couldn’t help myself… the red hair, the cat eyes, the gorgeousness.  She was so tolerant of my wacky ways and was perfect in front of the lens.  It doesn’t get more beautiful than this… you will be so glad you have these photos when you are my age and have begun to gain wrinkles and bags 🙂

Here is to a fabulous first year in college Julia.  Good luck and enjoy a laid back summer before you buckle down on the books.

This is so beautiful.

Love the artistic background the building brings!

Gotta love Texas!

The next two images are same position for her two different camera views… I love them both! (the 2nd however is my favorite shot of the day)

See what I mean about sultry cat eyes?  Girly girl, you are stunning!
