Arden Prucha Photography bio picture
  • HI! I am Arden Prucha Jenkins - a photographer located in Fort Worth, Texas! I specialize in portraiture and more recently weddings! Please take a look around and get to know my work, my style, my life, and me.

How did I get into photography? Well, everyone has their story right? Looking back I realize that the little photog was in me all along, without even knowing it! I picked up a camera when I was around 8 and started snapping photos - I even posed my neighbors, animals, and Barbies for photos (seriously I made a Barbie wedding and photographed the entire thing).

Who am I? Well, I was a teacher for three years, but was able to leave that job to focus on photography and my two beautiful children!  I married a man who I am totally smitten over and he is crazy supportive of me.  I am a bargain shopper with expensive taste.  God allows me to trust this world with less fear and more hope and trust.  Music makes my heart flutter - so thankfully I married a very talented musician. I wish I could carry a tune, but unfortunately I cannot. My favorite month is October (dreamy light) and I miss my convertible - oh the beautiful wind .  When I was little I was amazingly or perhaps annoyingly hyper - and ate more food than all of the boys and was faster than most of them too.  I was a dancer and I love to write and converse.  When I am around people I get more energy and become alive. The differences between women and men intrigue me and kiddos make my heart melt. Photos... well, they fill my heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy what you see.

Easter+Neighbors

Our Easter weekend was a little hectic (leading up to as well).  We have done a lot more socializing and I have been working (shooting/editing) a lot as well.  Saturday night rolls around and we had still not decorated the eggs I boiled on Friday (thinking I was going to get things done early).  After a dinner at friends on Saturday we arrived home at 8pm and decided that dying eggs wasn’t happenin’ so we brought out the trusty supply of colorful Sharpies!  The eggs were moist from the humid air meeting the cold egg, but we decorated away.  We decided that Easter Bunnies ONLY hide DECORATED eggs  and he totally did!  It is nice getting some one on one time with Pierson.  Parx slept through Santa and the Easter Bunny, so Pierson got us all to himself once again!

Pierson wanted me to decorate an egg with my 3-Ps… Paul scratching his head, Pierson riding his scooter, and Parx chilling in her excersaucer (other side of egg)…

This was my bass guitar + camera = LOVE egg.  Cheesy, but oh so right! My guy is a stellar bass player.

This is Nutty Paul telling Pierson that there are some eggs around. “WHERE ARE THEY???”

Oh checking out the goods.  He is obsessed with candy and sugar.

Now onto our neighbors.  I can’t even tell you how fortunate we are to have a very fun set of neighbors.  If you drive down our street around 3-5pm you will surely see a few of us out… drinking wine, sipping a beer, kiddos playing, grilling out sausage, throwing the football, and just enjoying each other’s company.  We have a GREAT group here!

Pierson and Virginia are two birds of a feather.

Little Miss P(arx) is 5 months already and her eyes are killer! Virginia singing ‘Twinkle Twinkle” and notice the next three images of her fans 🙂

My son is extremely clumsy and needed stitches last week, we settled for steri-strips and they fell off too soon.

All of these images were shot with my Markii along with my 50mm on f/1.4 the entire time.

I wanted to post a couple of photos that show some basic editing, but make a photo so much prettier!  Notice my husband’s non existent bags in the ‘edit?’  Yes my friends I NEVER have horrendous bags in posted photos, only in person 🙂  I also did some level enhancements, extra contrast, and a soft light layer with a slight color to it… I love love love this fella, bags and all… after-all WE won’t have bags EVER if I have anything to do with it 🙂

Now my Little Miss P… I took out her face scratches (dang those baby nails) and did a basic edit with level adjustments, slight sharpening, a little edge burn, and a nice soft light layer… badabing, badaboom.   Much better than the ‘straight out of camera’ shot ay?

DeDe, Gabriel, & Baby Bump

I first photographed DeDe two years ago when she was pregnant with G (this little guy below)… I was fairly new to photography and she and Jamil wanted me to photograph the two of them along with her sweet baby bump.  Then, once again to photograph baby G last year when he was a few months old.  Now, here I am photographing her son Gabriel again and her NEW baby bump!  These guys are an honestly beautiful and sweet family.  You see this family lives in South Carolina and I feel so honored that she chooses me to capture her growing family when she heads down south.  A special thanks to Sheila (DeDe’s mama) for helping us on this shoot and for being a very special woman in their lives.

Enjoy this sweet family… for those of you who know this fam, you will notice that G looks A LOT like his daddy with a mix of his mommy’s beautiful coloring. 🙂

This is why wind can be great!  Tousled, sexy, gorgeous.

Gabrielle showing how old he is. 1!!!!!

Stunning mama to be…

What a special time – reading to your child brings out the innocence and joy of a tiny being.  DeDe is a fantastic mom and G can speak ridiculously well for a little tot.

She is rockin’ this outfit.  I was so excited about her COLOR choices and accessories.

The only time gnats are cool:

I saw the back-light and so I created this:

Doesn’t it remind you of the old school profile pictures?

A tribute to THEIR special bench in Foster Park…

A HUGE THANK YOU to these guys and gals for putting up with some MAJOR wind during all of these shoots.  Hair begins to twirl, tangle, and look a little silly with the wind, but it adds movement and laughter 🙂

KS RHOADS

Meet KS Rhoads… he is a KILLER musician who lives in Nashville.  My husband, Paul, met him years ago here in Fort Worth.  KS had come to Fort Worth to attend TCU and was playing shows around town.   Paul and Kevin (KS) toured together in a band called Jay Quinn opening up for The Samples and Blue October several years ago.  Kevin is one of my favorite musicians ever!  He can spit off a lyrical rap in an instant, play tons of instruments, sing up a storm, produce albums, and write ridiculous melodies.  You will find his song on my website and his other songs here or purchase them ALL 🙂 on ITUNES.   Not only is he super creative, but he is hilarious, witty, cool, crazy and wonderfully unique.

Enjoy KS Rhoads, his charm, his vintage threads, and his free spirit, oh and please please please check out his tunes!
This is a video I captured on my amazing 5d Markii of KS beatboxin at The Modern. Does he rock? Heck yeah he does!
