Arden Prucha Photography bio picture
  • HI! I am Arden Prucha Jenkins - a photographer located in Fort Worth, Texas! I specialize in portraiture and more recently weddings! Please take a look around and get to know my work, my style, my life, and me.

How did I get into photography? Well, everyone has their story right? Looking back I realize that the little photog was in me all along, without even knowing it! I picked up a camera when I was around 8 and started snapping photos - I even posed my neighbors, animals, and Barbies for photos (seriously I made a Barbie wedding and photographed the entire thing).

Who am I? Well, I was a teacher for three years, but was able to leave that job to focus on photography and my two beautiful children!  I married a man who I am totally smitten over and he is crazy supportive of me.  I am a bargain shopper with expensive taste.  God allows me to trust this world with less fear and more hope and trust.  Music makes my heart flutter - so thankfully I married a very talented musician. I wish I could carry a tune, but unfortunately I cannot. My favorite month is October (dreamy light) and I miss my convertible - oh the beautiful wind .  When I was little I was amazingly or perhaps annoyingly hyper - and ate more food than all of the boys and was faster than most of them too.  I was a dancer and I love to write and converse.  When I am around people I get more energy and become alive. The differences between women and men intrigue me and kiddos make my heart melt. Photos... well, they fill my heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy what you see.

The Magic of NOLA!

So, I shot this back in December 2008, but am just now getting to it.  I have had a busy year with my last year of teaching, getting married, expecting a sweet babe, moving, renovating a home, expanding my business, getting a dog, playing “wife,” and getting Pierson ready for Kindergarten!  I had forgotten about this sweet set of images I took of Pierson while we were in New Orleans, or N’aulins as they say, last Christmas.  Paul is from Lousiana and I love that we get to visit this wonderful city at least once a year.  We saw this magician on the street and he “wowed” Pierson.  I think this set of photographs captures everything that NOLA is and everything I wanted it to be for P’s first visit!  I hope you get a kick out of my sweet son…

Meet the magician – isn’t he so cool looking?

Now beginning the disappearing-reappearing puffball trick:4.5

He placed the puffs in Pierson’s hand and then took them away.5
The magician is telling Pierson some “magic words” to say to help the puffs re-appear.6

Pierson’s face is so adorable, he really didn’t know how the puff wound up back in his hand – to tell you the truth we didn’t either!7For all of you with children going back to school – may they have a blessed year and learn a lot!  Pierson will begin his first year of school in less than three days – what a milestone this will be!  Feelings of joy, fear, compassion, love, excitement and sadness run through my mind daily.  To see your children grow is bittersweet… one day he will be sending his child off to do the same thing, but for now I get to enjoy this little being!

Cady 2010!

I posted a sneak peek a couple of weeks ago and praised Cady on her patience with my somewhat newly dumb pregnant brain (here we go last trimester). Cady and I had such a blast together. She is going to be graduating in the spring and seems to have a great head on her shoulders. My trick to making her laugh was either saying things intentionally, or perhaps quite unintentionally. Like “Oh yeah, it’s great to have your armpits in photos!” – that sentence right there will give you the most natural laugh ever captured!  I would also get so confused on her left and right and kept shouting out the wrong directions, leading to more true smiles and giggles. Cady was rockin’ it – with every silly thing I said she came out with grace, perfect laughs, bright smiles, and beautiful “serious” looks. I am so happy to be sharing this gorgeous person with you guys!

Cady – this is how you will want to remember “17!”coverc1c2c3c4c5

This is one of the “arm-pit” like photos… though, I obviously didn’t make the comment for this photo 🙂c7c8

There is something about this photo that I LOVE LOVE LOVE.  It is so gorgeous, crisp, and real.c6c9c10c15c14c12c16c13

Baby Sam!

So, this was a “spur of the moment” shoot at our home. Maury lives over about an hour away so it isn’t often that we get to spend some time together – not enough for sure. We were pregnant together six years ago! She has been such a fun, dear, loving, and kind friend to myself and my son. I had mentioned taking them to the pool, but ha the pregnant gal runs out of energy pretty quickly these days. We stayed in our three story town-home with two, nearly six year old, boys who were running, yelling, gun zapping, jumping, and doing everything else boys do (um like shouting words like “poop, fart, peepee, killed, dead” and other super masculine and disturbing words).

So while the homemade brownies were cooling I wanted to take some pictures of ADORABLE one year old Sam. I mean – does it even get cuter than this rockST*R baby? He makes the sweetest little “huh” noises ever and I just wanted to eat him up. I hope this sweet babe brings a smile to your face, just imagine him in person! (I am throwing in some photos from when he was a tiny tiny tot to share the sweetness and growth)logo2logo1

The Hennige Kiddos!

So, I hope you have seen the sneak peek of  Cady in a previous post.  Well, this is the rest of the crew:  Nick and Jack the “twins” and Emily.  They made up my family session the same evening  I photographed Cady.  The poor boys, I am sure, got tired of me saying “Which one  are you?” or “Jack?  I mean Nick!”  We had a lot of fun and they were of course troopers in the lovely heat of a sweet Texas summer eve.  I love Stacy (Mama) for being there with her great sense of humor and WATER cooler – Thanks for feeding us all the greatness of H2O throughout the trucking around and giggles… my baby girl says “thank you” too!  I hope you love the great spirit they give off in these shots.  They were an adorable, hilarious, and quite a witty crew.web3webv3web5web6webv2web9web10web11web12web13web14web2webv1web16web18

I love this series of the boys!  I was trying to get them to hold hands – um just FYI never ask 8 year boys/brothers to hold hands.  Apparently it is super LAME – whoopsie!web17

The Prego Photog:

July 11th was the weekend, meaning I was about six and a half months shooting this wedding. Amanda Harrison caught a few shots of me directing the large party and I thought it would be a pretty cute “baby bump” posting. Thanks Amanda for capturing these and Sara for trusting me to shoot your wedding with ease while carrying my baby girl!me4me3me2me1
