Arden Prucha Photography bio picture
  • HI! I am Arden Prucha Jenkins - a photographer located in Fort Worth, Texas! I specialize in portraiture and more recently weddings! Please take a look around and get to know my work, my style, my life, and me.

How did I get into photography? Well, everyone has their story right? Looking back I realize that the little photog was in me all along, without even knowing it! I picked up a camera when I was around 8 and started snapping photos - I even posed my neighbors, animals, and Barbies for photos (seriously I made a Barbie wedding and photographed the entire thing).

Who am I? Well, I was a teacher for three years, but was able to leave that job to focus on photography and my two beautiful children!  I married a man who I am totally smitten over and he is crazy supportive of me.  I am a bargain shopper with expensive taste.  God allows me to trust this world with less fear and more hope and trust.  Music makes my heart flutter - so thankfully I married a very talented musician. I wish I could carry a tune, but unfortunately I cannot. My favorite month is October (dreamy light) and I miss my convertible - oh the beautiful wind .  When I was little I was amazingly or perhaps annoyingly hyper - and ate more food than all of the boys and was faster than most of them too.  I was a dancer and I love to write and converse.  When I am around people I get more energy and become alive. The differences between women and men intrigue me and kiddos make my heart melt. Photos... well, they fill my heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy what you see.

Nolan Threesome

Meet Alexa, Lauren, and William!  Once again this was a photo shoot on a FREEZING day.  You know highs in the 40s kinda day.  Well, these three kiddos were playful, funny, goofy, and a lot of fun to work with.  Alann (Mom) called that day and asked if we could swap locations.  We photographed at her dear friend’s home in Rivercrest overlooking… well FW!  What a lovely setting it was and allowed me to think outside the box.  We let their mom stay warm inside to help them loosen up and be themselves.  I think it worked – can you tell they are a fun group of siblings?

I asked them to hang from the tree and whoops – the gals knees hit the ground with force.  Hence the giggling!

My personal favorite of the day 🙂

This tree made the shoot… complete!  I love these images….

Our host Renee was kind enough to make some hot chocolate for ALL of us – our hands were stiff and nearly immobile.

I felt like these trees were calling for a photo-op… so, this is how I used them.

Goodbye Sweet 2009

This year has truly been the best year thus far.  My business has grown from a photo shoot every two months to several a month.  Right now I enjoy taking it slow to get into the groove of things.  I do not wish to be overwhelmed or too busy for anyone’s good.  I must thank everyone in my life for helping me become “Arden Prucha Photography.”  Thank you for sharing my work, spreading the word, and encouraging me.  I hope to grow with my past and future clients this next year.  I am photographing more weddings this upcoming year and am excited to capture some blissful moments between brides and grooms.  One of the weddings is in JAMAICA where Paul will be my “assistant” – so exciting!  I am here because of the great people who believe in me and will continue to succeed with your help – thank you so very much my dear friends!  May 2010 bring success, blessings, and lots and lots of LOVE for you guys!

In honor of 2009 I am posting some of my favorite images from this year.  I have had to dig into different computers to gather these images, for I had some bad luck with coffee and a laptop so they are all over the place! 😉  It was difficult to pick these images, but each one caught my eye more than others today.  Some I love strictly for the artistic look and others I love because of the feeling, the moment, and my memory of what was actually happening as I snapped away.  From a sweet girl running away from the intended shot to the passionate kiss of a soon to be bride and groom.  I love them all.

What do YOU LOVE? I would love to hear what your favorite photo, blog post, or favorite anything that made you smile or touched your heart from my work this year.  Feel free to share below!!!

And the Winner Is…

Goldwaves Salon!  They won 1st place in a stylist competition for Oribe Hair Care.  You may remember their shoot from this post.  One of their stylists won with the image below by re-creating the look of a magazine cover of Linda Evangelista.  There were 200 entries from all over the United States and their salon won!  As an added bonus for them, I am awarding the model and stylist with a FREE photo shoot capturing a new look created by the stylist.  I cannot wait to see how that turns out and will of course share with you later on.  I am so thankful that they allowed me to incorporate my vision to complete their artwork.  Congrats Goldwaves!

Pearce Fellas

Meet the Pearce boys!  Their mom is our Realtor and she wanted some some photos of her boys for Christmas cards and to give as gifts.  Let me first say that this day was FREEZING!  I am talking about hands frozen, lips unable to move, painful freezing.  The crazy part?  These boys didn’t bring a coat or anything to help assist them in becoming warm.  I felt awful for them, but I think the photos turned out pretty darn cute.  It can be a little tough to pose young men without making them feel incredibly ridiculous, but they handled me nicely.  I hope you enjoy the fellas and just imagine the brrrr COLD!  Oh and if you need an awesome gal to sell a home or help you find one… Debbie is great!

Snow Globe

Wednesday afternoon was gorgeous in Fort Worth and pretty typical for December – 70 degrees, crisp, sunny, lovely.  It is often hard to get in the holiday spirit with such spring and fall like weather, but Jack Frost had a plan to spruce things up for the season.  Thursday morning (Christmas Eve) rolls around and it began snowing lightly and occasionally turning into sleet.  No biggy, kind of slushy, cold, but winter was here.  Then noon came around and the light snow turned into beautiful, big, real, floating snowflakes.  It accumulated, and blew, and grew and piled up until everything was white!  Heavy winds turned our backyard into our own personal Snow Globe!  It was fantastic and I must share this magnificent moment of our life with… YOU.  Merry Christmas, thanks for stopping by, and always feel free to share your comments.
